Ukraine, 6 months on
This week will mark the 6 month anniversary since Russia invaded Ukraine. Though fighting continues, it has largely slipped from the headlines.
Will it ever end?
Like everyone else, I found out that the grueling level 5 lockdown is likely to be extended to early May (9 long weeks from now) via a newspaper interview. Or, more accurately, via twitter where people were rightly critical that the Taoiseach didn't have either the courtesy or the common sense to share such a significant piece of news in a more carefully managed way.
What have we learned from the 2019 local and European elections?
spent much of last weekend in bed, recovering from a cold, reading books and enjoying the slow resolution of the local and European elections. As a friend said at the time, peak Clare. I love elections. Having John Bowman on the telly with his handwritten calculations and his glasses and his unabashed nerdiness is always a joy.
